SENIOR STUDIO

SENIOR STUDIO RULES

The Senior Studio is reserved for students in Advanced Photography, and is located in FAD 337A. It is a communal and shared space. Please be mindful of your fellow classmates.


HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Please follow all UF, SAAH, and Photo Area rules.
  • Hazardous materials may not be stored or used in the Senior Studio.
  • Photo chemicals must be registered and inventoried with the Teaching Lab Specialist, and then stored in the Darkroom.
  • No solvents. No spray adhesive. No spray paint. 

FOOD & DRINK

  • Food and drink may be consumed in the Senior Studio, but can not be stored in the studio.
  • No refrigerators. No microwaves. No kettles. No hot pots. No toasters. No coffee makers.
  • Throw away all food and drink waste immediately. 

CHAIRS & FURNITURE

  • Do not remove any furniture or chairs from the Senior Studio.
  • Do not bring in other equipment, chairs, or furniture from other parts of the Photo Area or School.
  • Folding chairs may be brought in or removed as needed.

CLEAN UP

  • Please maintain the space and keep it clean.
  • Do not use the room as long term storage. If you are not using something then get rid of it.

 KEY

  • Keep door closed and locked when not in immediate use.
  • There is one shared key to the studio and it is stored in a locker. Always return the key to the locker immediately after use.
  • If the key is not in the locker then it means that one of your classmates took it. Don't take the key!
  • If you lock the key in the studio you must call UPD at 392-1111 and they will come and retrieve the key for you.

M-F 8:30AM-5:00PM ACCESS

  • The door to the studio must be kept open when occupied M-F 8:30am-5:00pm.
  • No sound from speakers.
  • No cell phone.
  • No loud conversation.
  • At any time your access may be denied during these days and hours. 

AFTER HOURS/WEEKEND ACCESS

  • Any weekday after 5:00pm, or 24 hr weekend, you may use the studio at any time, make noise, and keep the door shut while occupied.

FRIDAY LAB DAY

  • In general, Friday's in the Photo Area are open lab days available to all PGY students.
  • Advanced Photography students must reserve printers and lighting studio in advanced.
  • Printer and Lighting Studio reservation limits apply to Advanced Photography students, with the exception that you may reserve extra time during your class lab time on Fridays during regular open lab times. Penalties still apply for missing reservations.
  • FAD 329 classroom is usually available to the Advanced Photography class, but on occasion it will be reserved for Vis Lit classes. Vis Lit has priority in these cases.

STORAGE OF PRINTS AND SUPPLIES

  • Always mark all belongings and supplies with your name.
  • Property stored in the Photo Area is at your own risk.
  • Do not touch or take other people's stuff.
  • Flat files are available in the Senior Studio. Please divide up equally amongst yourselves. Sharing is caring.
  • Roll paper storage is available in Fawbush in the 314A closet. You may store roll paper in there or in the Senior Studio.
